Telehealth Substance Use Treatment
Substance use is one of the most complex issues faced by many individuals in our society today, regardless of who they are or where they come from. If you have been caught in the grips of addiction, you will know that deciding to seek help can be one of the hardest things to do. The good news is that once you have made this decision, there are various options available to get the help you need including Telehealth substance use treatment options.
Intensive inpatient programs can also seem intimidating for someone beginning their recovery process. At Rego Park Counseling, we understand that it may not be possible for you. For this reason, we have created an intensive Outpatient Substance Use Program. This way, you have the option of receiving treatment while still being able to carry on with your daily tasks. For those unable to attend the outpatient program in person, we have utilized the benefits of modern technology to offer the same treatment in the form of telehealth.
How does our telehealth program work?
To begin the process, you will be evaluated by one of our professional substance use counselors. Recovery is a personal journey, and this assessment allows us to tailor your treatment program to suit your individual needs and to use the best approach for you. Throughout our programs, we utilize a variety of methods, including daily therapy groups, 12-step meetings, peer support groups, and individual therapy sessions.
Why Telehealth?
We understand that, due to various reasons, attending our outpatient treatment programs is also not always possible for many of our patients. Telehealth substance use treatment services have become more and more popular and have been proven to be a great option for those with health concerns or transportation issues. Others may feel hesitant and prefer to attend at discretion. For these reasons, telehealth is a great way to ensure that, despite any obstacles, our patients can receive the treatment they need. Online substance use treatment programs are also a great alternative to inpatient treatment. Many successful patients began their journey at this level. The focus is on meeting day-to-day challenges to sobriety for patients and/or family members.
Services provided through Telehealth
We offer the following services through our telehealth substance use counseling program:
Therapy and peer support groups
Communicating and getting to know others who struggle with addiction and have similar stories to you is a powerful part of recovery. Our group therapy sessions motivate our patients and allow them to feel less isolated.
12-step meetings
Arguably one of the most effective methods to combat addiction, the 12-step program focuses on self-reflection, growth, and improvement. It also allows fellow addicts to connect with each other.
Individual therapy
Everyone’s journey to recovery is different. Individual therapy helps patients focus on themselves and deal with problems with the help of personalized treatment from their therapist.
In addition to addiction counseling, Rego Park also offers couples therapy, family substance use treatment, and anger management treatment via telehealth. These can be done on their own or in conjunction with addiction counseling. You can learn more about this by speaking to one of our counselors.
How can I prepare for telehealth?
Before attending your telehealth substance use treatment meetings, it is important to be prepared beforehand. This will help you to get the most out of each session. To connect to your therapist, you will need a computer or smart device and a stable internet connection. The device you are using to connect should have a listening and speaking function. Choose a quiet, private area with no distractions. Make sure to schedule your sessions at a time of day when you know you will be available for at least thirty minutes to one hour. If you feel that you don’t want to go through the process alone and have someone willing to be your support person, check that they are available at this time too. Even if they can’t be present for all the sessions, having a support person who knows the situation can help make you feel more at ease.
Rego Park Counseling also offers hybrid programs to accommodate your needs. This means that you can attend both in-person outpatient sessions, as well as make use of the telehealth program. Addiction is not an ethical inadequacy – it is a chronic (but treatable) illness, and we believe everyone deserves a chance to be freed from its grip. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to get help. Give us a call or fill in our form, and we will call you today.
